Our client, a global healthcare leader, is keen to hire a Process Project Engineer to join their team in Cavan on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and execute assigned projects within the Process Department, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
* Design, install, commission, and validate new equipment while improving existing process units and systems.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with Abbott’s safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, HR, etc.) to ensure smooth project implementation and alignment with operational goals.
* Prepare and review engineering designs, project schedules, budgets, and validation documentation.
* Identify and implement cost improvement projects (CIPs) to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
* Provide regular project updates to the Process Project Manager, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in mechanical and electrical systems, offering expert guidance to the team.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
* At least 3 years of engineering experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or food/dairy manufacturing sectors.
* Proven experience with process engineering, equipment installation, and project management.
* Strong understanding of automation systems (PLC, SCADA) and design software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Project).
* Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, FMEA, RCA) and excellent problem-solving skills.
