About the business unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental, and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview of role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the development of client relationships and drive the growth of our team in Ireland. The successful candidate will lead major rail projects, leveraging their expertise to deliver impactful solutions, and manage a dedicated team within Mott MacDonald.
What you will contribute to the team
1. Delivery of commission obligations and internal project performance.
2. Building and managing strong relationships with senior client representatives.
3. Establishing effective communications across the project delivery, client, and stakeholder teams.
4. Taking the lead on problem solving and decision making.
5. Team leadership, resource planning, and management.
6. Controlling the internal and external commercial aspects of projects across a range of contractual arrangements.
Required for the position of Senior Project Manager
* Experience delivering large transport infrastructure projects - ideally rail.
* Professional membership – chartered or full membership (either APM or ICE).
* Experience of managing NEC3/4 contracts.
* Based in Dublin or Cork (or surrounding areas).
* Substantial project management expertise across a wide range of disciplines, contract/procurement routes, and market sectors.
* Experience of managing and leading large project teams to successful outcomes.
* High degree of commercial acumen and knowledge of planning and project controls.
* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, stakeholders, colleagues, and the supply chain.
* Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work.
* Flexibility to travel to client sites and other MM offices.
* Experience as the named NEC Project Manager on a project.
* Technical background or at least demonstrated technical knowledge in rail.
* Experience managing the early stages of the transport infrastructure investment cycle, including setting up requirements, transport demand modelling, pre-feasibility studies, strategic business cases.
