This role supports compliance within the Group towards upholding Policies and Procedures currently in the business and further developed by this role, as approved by the Board.Responsibilities and DutiesThese include but are not limited to:Owning and managing the broad spectrum of ESG across all teams in the Select Group.EHS, Health and Safety policies, practices compliance and procedural control.Providing ESG Leadership, including health and safety and environmental sustainability leadership, to all levels of teams and colleagues across the Group.Supporting and advising all management teams, colleagues, contractors/suppliers, and customers, where impacted, across Ireland & the UK.Setting direction for effective health and safety management and appropriate workplace programmes and training for all employees across the Group.Reviewing and developing all aspects of our health & safety and wellbeing policies and activities and ensuring that it is implemented consistently across the Group.Working to develop H&S policies and procedures in line with legislative compliance requirements and customer demands.Working proactively with teams and colleagues to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of ESG and EHS within their areas of responsibility.Ensuring that appropriate risk assessment and incident management systems are in place and followed across the organisation.Liaising with HR/People Ops on health & safety and staff wellbeing issues particularly where a risk assessment has identified a need, including supporting HR/People Ops and line managers in carrying out individual risk assessments when required.Overseeing and undertaking audits where appropriate and ensuring an action plan where objectives are established to address issues identified and then own the delivery against these action plans.Working closely with all teams and particularly our Group Operations team and other management to collaborate on how compliance requirements are being controlled, documented, and maintained in accordance with regulations, and reported when needed.Monitoring, evaluating and reviewing existing, new, and upcoming health & safety legislation and ensuring that the Select Tech Group has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance and other suitable best practice requirements.Reviewing and developing policies and procedures for other aspects of our business including supporting notes for business tendering processes.Examining the feasibility of developing a framework for quality standards.Environmental Sustainability:Owning & developing our policies and procedures for Environmental sustainability, including WEEE in Ireland.Developing analysis & reports to ensure that business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations.Developing and owning a reporting of our policies and procedures to align with our customers' needs.Serving as the sustainability liaison contact with all internal teams and external partners, taking responsibility for completing any questionnaires or documentation through RFI/RFP processes, and supporting the business appropriately.Collaborating with teams and leading the process to develop group-wide sustainability initiatives and the delivery of an active multi-annual action plan.Developing the environmental policies and procedures for Ireland and the UK, including working with the site operations teams on recycling programs, alternative energy use and change, and water conservation efforts.Working closely with other departments and assisting them with ad-hoc sustainability requests as needed.Leading a new initiative on energy conservation with a prospective partner to examine a trial programme across pilot stores, and examining a cost-benefit analysis with our chosen contractors to reduce energy consumption.Minimum Requirements:At least 3-4 years of related work experience in a safety/quality role in a large-organisational setting with an SME focus.First aid certification/knowledge would be an advantage.Experience with implementation and/or maintenance of ISO Standards.The willingness to work a hybrid model of work, working from an office, as well as travelling across Ireland and the UK as and when required.Passionate and strong communicator who can influence stakeholders to create a safe working culture.Proactive rather than reactive to resolve issues from arising.Experience of working and building cross-functional teams.Experience of project management would also be useful.Full, clean driver's licence and access to own transport.
