Your Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of social housing projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting cost analysis and providing accurate estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
* Collaborating closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure budgetary compliance and timely project delivery.
* Overseeing procurement activities and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing value engineering strategies.
* Monitoring project progress and conducting regular site visits to assess financial performance and address any discrepancies.
* Mentoring junior members of the team and providing expert guidance on quantity surveying best practices.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a focus on social housing projects.
* Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
* Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.
