ROLE: FPGA Engineer
LOCATION: Dublin, Ireland
DURATION: Permanent/Full-time
My client is looking for an FPGA Engineer to join their team with previous experience in architecting, designing and successfully delivering FPGA based systems.
This company is a manufacturer of high-performance inertial sensors, including tactical grade Coriolis vibratory gyroscopes and navigation grade quartz servo accelerometers. They provide solutions for industries such as aerospace, marine energy and more.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Specification/design FPGA blocks
2. Design documentation including FPGA requirements, specifications, design descriptions, and test specifications.
3. FPGA laboratory-based verification work, system integration and test.
4. Support existing FPGA design verification and board test activities
5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on system architecture and design, providing inputs to architecture and design reviews.
6. Write, simulate, and verify VHDL based FPGA designs.
7. Schematic, PCB Layout support, and review.
8. Proficient with scripting languages such as Python, and programming languages such as C/C++ for purposes of simulation/design environment development and laboratory test results analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering
2. Strong knowledge of FPGA design flow: Verification, Synthesis, Partitioning, Place & Route, Timing Closure and Power Estimation
3. Knowledge of interface protocols, memory technologies and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C).
4. Familiarity with electronic circuit & system design: analog, digital and power.
5. Knowledge of embedded systems and processor architectures
6. Experienced in the use of laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Signal Analyser.
7. Experience with tools such as SVN & Git
8. Preferred experience with VHDL and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02 – ASIC & FPGA Development design flow for space projects.
9. Hardware/System debug skills
