* Lead the design and development of microservices using Java and Spring Boot
* Architect, implement and deploy scalable and highly available microservice solutions
* Work with Kafka for event driven architecture and message brokering
What is the Role:
The candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of microservice specialists within the Credit domain responsible for implementing appropriate technology solutions. The role requires a recognised technical specialist providing insight and expertise in directing others and ensuring maximum productivity by constantly monitoring and improving software development practice in the credit microservice domain. Working alongside offshore and onshore colleagues, they will be involved in multi million Euro programs that will transform solutions in AIB, enabling AIB's best in class digital ambition.
Key accountabilities;
* Work closely with teams within the Credit domain to design and deliver the strategic Credit Change agenda to deliver business value.
* Take responsibility for technical design and implementation for the Micro-service Credit domain within Credit engineering.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Microservice and java credit engineering team.
* Collaborate with product owners and solution architects to understand requirements and deliver high quality solutions
* Ensure the performance, security and reliability of application by implementing best practice in coding, testing and deployment
* Review code and designs for adherence to best practice, scalability and maintainability.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Java, microservices and cloud architecture
* Contribute to the continuous enhancement and improvement of the credit engineering function.
What you Will Bring:
* 5+ years of experience in Java development with a strong focus on microservices architecture.
* Expertise in Spring Boot framework for building microservices-based applications.
* Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and maintainable microservices.
* Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
* Hands-on experience with Kafka for messaging and event-driven systems.
* Strong knowledge of Oracle and DB2 databases, including designing schemas, writing optimized SQL queries, and database performance tuning.
* Strong understanding of software development best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile methodologies.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
