Port Technician

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the company for a Port Technician.
Reporting to the Head of Section for Mill Process, the Port Technician is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing all aspects of the Dublin Port facility operation and concentrate transport.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* The role includes safety and supervisory support for the Dublin Port team and operation and development of all Port functions.
* Co-ordinate, monitor and record all concentrate transport and shipping as per agreed plan.
* Manage communications with operational, transport and commercial contacts.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with all transport regulations.
* Monitor environmental compliance for the Port and concentrate transport systems and action any deviations, including dust monitoring and Port quay management.
* Ensure all required sampling / reporting is completed for concentrate transport.
* Maintain in good order all concentrate stores and handling facilities.
* Implement PM checks and plans in conjunction with Mill Maintenance Department.
* Monitor KPIs and costs versus budgets and action any deviations.
* Participate in the procurement of equipment and services.
* Initiate, lead & support improvements & projects as required.
* Ensure training needs analysis for Port and transport personnel is implemented.
Experience and Qualifications:
* The successful candidate will possess a relevant degree in analytical science, engineering, environmental science or equivalent.
* A minimum of 5 years operational experience.
* Relevant leadership and supervisory experience is required.
* The person appointed will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be capable of working and leading as part of a small team and be prepared to work flexible hours as required.

Additional Info:
* This role will be full time, Mon – Fri basis from 7:30 – 16:00.
* There will be a degree of flexibility required as part of this role in line with operational requirements.
