Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Field Service Engineer to join our Professional Services Team at RealTime. This role requires providing senior technical support on software, hardware, and systems to meet SLAs with a high level of expertise in a field-based environment.
Main Responsibilities
* Conduct site surveys and collaborate with on-site contractors to agree on requirements.
* Install, test, and configure networks and computer hardware according to company standards and procedures.
* Perform planned and regular maintenance of all on-site equipment.
* Provide sites with additional information or training, advising users on basic equipment operation.
* Regularly update managers on progress, details of relevant issues, or further actions needed.
* Detect and repair faults to component level, effecting on-site repairs or removing equipment to the workshop for thorough repair.
* Carry out software and hardware upgrades on site.
* Complete detailed paperwork and present a positive company image.
* Provide a timely, polite, and efficient service.
Key Qualifications
* At least 6 months experience in a field-based customer service engineering role, preferably in a software-focused environment.
* Network Troubleshooting (Hardware & Topology, TCP/IP).
* Background knowledge in computer hardware (PCs, IP networks, and WIFI).
* A clean driving license is essential.
* PC literacy and ability to quickly learn new software packages.
* Planning and organizational skills to establish efficient plans and adapt to unexpected changes.
* Customer service skills to understand and respond to customer needs.
* Communication and team working skills to achieve common goals and communicate information clearly.
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills to analyze information appropriately.
