XL Catlin Services SE (‘XLCSSE’) is an intra-group service provider that employs the majority of colleagues within Europe who deliver services to certain regulated insurance carriers and unregulated entities on an outsourced basis and supports them in meeting their obligations to their respective regulators, boards of directors and clients. XLCSSE supports the AXA XL Division by optimizing the deployment of available talent and resources and supports the Division’s expense management and profitability targets.
The CEO is accountable for the overall functioning of the activities of the services company, providing strategic direction and overseeing the management team and executive committee members and stakeholder management with senior leaders and boards of its key (re)insurance clients (‘the ‘Carriers’) and non-insurance entities (‘NIEs’). The CEO will be a Member of the Board of XLCSSE and report to the CFO, AXA XL.
This is a Central Bank of Ireland Pre-Approval Controlled Function role under the CBI’s Fitness and Probity Regime. Any appointment will be subject to regulatory approvals.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Shaping XLCSSE’s strategy, taking into account increased regulatory demands from the CBI and other regulators, with particular focus on sub-outsourcing and offshoring risks. Ensuring effective oversight of service delivery is in place at all levels of the organization, as well as appropriate challenge to ensure service quality remains at the highest levels.
* Proactively representing XLCSSE with key internal stakeholders (including executive management and Boards of the Carriers and corporate functions, including HR, Legal & Compliance, Risk, Internal Auditors, Tax and Finance) and key external stakeholders (including Regulators and External Auditors).
* Driving alignment across all of AXA XL’s regulated and non-regulated service companies in relation to best-in-class service delivery to Carriers and NIEs in relation to corporate governance and compliance, outsourcing and procurement, reporting and analytics, and control and risk frameworks.
* Ensuring the success of XLCSSE in facilitating the provision of resources as employing entity, and according to the Carriers’ needs, taking into account their regulatory requirements and with regard to the risks for XLCSSE. Ensuring the foundational KPI framework accurately and efficiently tracks service quality and identifies any issues of which the Carriers should be aware.
* Responsibility for overseeing and inspiring XLCSSE’s business and operations to deliver highly efficient, effective, compliant and truly value adding services.
* Responsible for driving excellence, innovation, and strategic development throughout XLCSSE as the leader of the executive team, including the overall development and implementation of XLCSSE’s strategy, budgeting, goals and financial results, encompassing both annual and longer-term plans.
* Being a key member of the company’s Board across all its discussions and activities, while also providing regular updates to the Board on topics such as performance against plan, strategy updates, governance, succession plans and monitoring of new business initiatives.
