Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Software Test Manager to lead our testing efforts in Galway. This is a 12-month FTC role with the possibility of extension.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in software testing and possess a full driving license. Occasional travel may be required, and standard Civil Service rates will apply.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage client testing and validation activities throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC), ensuring quality assurance of CoVIS Contractor system testing, functional integration testing, and client regression testing.
* Oversee and manage the design, maintenance, and execution of robust test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test data in line with Test Strategies.
* Ensure performance, stress, and volume testing of non-functional requirements is conducted, and findings are progressed.
* Maintain and complete requirements traceability matrices throughout the test phase.
* Drive communication between testing, business analysis, architecture, and development/prod support teams to ensure adequate test coverage.
* Resource planning, developing release work plans, and schedules for validation and execution of test cases in line with the overall CoVIS Contractor program of work.
* Review project timelines, estimation, budget development, and cost control from a testing perspective.
* Input into project approval and sign-off for all test activity and documentation.
* Engage and coordinate with third-party vendors on software testing and validation.
* Review CoVIS Contractor or other third-party test documentation.
* Manage testing risks and issues.
* Develop system enhancement requirements and changes.
* Day-to-day management of defects raised with CoVIS Contractor from logging to resolution.
* Chair test review meetings and deliver test status reports to stakeholders.
* Manage testing documentation on the Authority's Sharepoint site.
* Coordinate release plans and communications to system users.
* Provide independent software quality assurance and best practice guidance to the Authority.
* Coordinate internal testing resources as needed.
The above is a general guide and subject to periodic review. The Resource will not have a team of testers available and will engage with the business on UAT testing planning and coordination.
Requirements:
* Practical experience in overseeing and managing robust test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test data, with reporting and analysing test results.
* Resourcing planning and developing release work plans and schedules for test case validation and execution.
* Driving communication between test, business analysis, architecture, development/prod support teams, and providing support to Business users on testing activities.
* Experience working with restful APIs, performing Soap Webservice Functional testing, manual functional and non-functional testing, and test management systems.
