Job Description:
This role will be critical to the successful day to day running of the Underwriting Department. Reporting directly to the Underwriting Manager, the successful candidate is primarily responsible for making credit decisions on potential VWFSI customers introduced by Volkswagen group retailers and must display strong analytical skills and have the ability to make credit decisions under pressure in line with VWFSI credit policy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to a fast paced Credit Department continuously implementing our company values to ensure the team operates efficiently and successfully.
* Underwrite retail and lease finance applications within a delegated underwriting authority.
* Control the quality of the business approved by ensuring retail policy, procedures and guidelines are being adhered to at all times.
* Identify and potentially implement process and system improvements for the fleet and retail business in line with our efforts to continuously improve the service and products we provide.
* Make recommendations on applications above delegated underwriting authority and present to team management.
* Prepare credit applications with recommendations above delegated underwriting authority and present to credit committee where necessary.
* Strong interpersonal and communications skills with an ability to deliver on a range of responsibilities through collaboration with colleagues across the team and wider business.
* Establish and develop relationships with all key stakeholders within the business and beyond to maximise all new business opportunities.
* Other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Financial Services qualification or equivalent desirable but not a necessity.
* FCCC in compliance with the Minimum Competency Requirements (MCR) as per the Financial Regulator (if not already accredited, accreditation must be completed while on the job.)
* 3 yrs minimum Underwriting experience desirable
* Professional/ technical knowledge/analytical thinker
* Computer skills: Knowledge of MS Office products; MS Excel intermediate
* Language skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken)

This is a two year fixed term contract. A competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualification level will be offered to the successful candidate.
