Within this role you will be responsible for operational, maintenance and troubleshooting support for utilities, facilities, HVAC & building systems through strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cGMP's.
As a Maintenance Technician (Utilities), a typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Performing daily operations, maintenance and repairs on utilities, WFI, clean steam, bulk gases, bulk chemicals, process water generation, boilers, chillers, chemical dosing systems, cooling towers, air compressors, LPHW skids, waste water treatment, biowaste inactivation skids or other mechanical equipment in a cGMP environment with minimal supervision.
2. Monitoring and interpreting readings on equipment, computer terminals/HMIs, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions ensuring that equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
3. Identifying any off-nominal conditions with mechanical and electrical equipment.
4. Troubleshooting and problem solving any operational & maintenance issues.
5. Performing daily work orders and PMs and efficiently coordinating the workflow and documentation of PMs and WOs.
6. Performing or arranging for repairs, such as complete overhauls, replacement of defective valves, gaskets, bearings or fabrication of new parts.
7. Coordinating and supervising vendor maintenance activities.
8. Ensuring safe and efficient hands-on maintenance with strict adherence to SOP's, cGMP's, and quality standards.
9. Ensuring a safe work environment is maintained by adherence to Safety Systems such as COHE/LOTO, Permit to Work, Method Statements / Risk Assessments.
10. Adhering to and remaining current in assigned IOPS plant and department SOPs and required trainings as related to positional and department responsibilities are maintained to an up-to-date training file to ensure compliance.
11. Adhering to site standards & programmes (e.g. SCC (Site safety, cleanliness, compliance), 5S).
12. Analysing problems and taking appropriate action ensuring continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
13. Following current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) and good business practices.
