QEHS Advisor - Manufacturing Facility - Carlow

Our client is a leading mechanical contractor with a manufacturing facility based in Carlow.
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to the Group QEHS Manager, the QEHS Advisor is required for the day-to-day Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality functions on site.
2. Provide professional support & advice to the Senior Management Team (Design & Manufacture) on Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality matters.
3. Assist employees & contractors in respect of compliance with relevant legislation, client standards & contractual agreements.
4. Responsible for developing, promoting & monitoring the HSEQ culture across all activities.
5. Responsible for the permitting of works within the facility, ensuring that all EHS & Quality expectations are considered and complied with.
6. Ensure that all products are designed and manufactured in accordance with company Quality systems, Safety standards & Customer requirements.
7. Assist with quality control function including oversight of incoming inspections, process controls/audits.
8. Ensure all relevant documentation is prepared & updated in line with all quality & regulatory guidelines & promotes full compliance.
9. Lead quality initiatives e.g. providing technical support, process improvements programs.
10. Responsible for the implementation of all applicable ISO standards.
11. Ensure that communications between the Group EHS & Group Quality departments is 100% clear & detailed for implementation by the team.
12. Analyse problems & follow through with solutions.
13. Deal with customer complaints, ensuring that all relevant documents & traceability are in place.
14. Prepare and review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
15. Identify and coordinate construction EHS training to meet regulatory requirements and improve construction EHS awareness & performance across the company.
16. Ensure adherence to ISO14001/ISO45001/ISO9001 standards.
17. Drive the implementation of programs and initiatives to foster a strong safety culture.
18. Report to the Group EHS Manager/Group Quality Manager and General Manager.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Academic qualification in Safety (Min NEBOSH Diploma) and/or Quality Systems.
2. Experience in EHS Management Systems in a busy manufacturing environment.
3. Experience in Quality Management Systems in a busy manufacturing environment.
4. Strong organisational skills.
5. Technical capability.
6. Team player with ability to work on own initiative.
7. Detail-oriented with ability to operate to strict deadlines.
8. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
9. Comfortable working in a busy environment.
10. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to build respect and influence at all levels.
