Role: To assist in the overall development of the service and to contribute to quality improvement measures.
Main Duties: To deputise in the absence of the Director of Service. To play an active role in the development and management of the service.
Responsibilities: Assisting the Director in the following:
1. To be aware of Good Governance Procedures and to keep updating knowledge of same.
2. Assisting in the formulation and updating of Policies and Procedures.
3. Planning and implementing of all educational programmes of the service in line with all relevant developments in the early years sector, following Aistear (National Quality Framework) and Siolta.
4. Assisting with the supervision of all staff and work carried out in the service.
5. Facilitating staff and student supervision on placement within the service.
6. Dealing with children’s applications and supporting parents accessing funding through the funding streams.
7. Identifying children with additional needs and planning appropriate intervention within the service or with other outside professionals.
8. Assisting in the formulation of funding applications through funding streams such as NCS, ECCE, Tusla, and other government funding streams.
9. Attending meetings concerning children attending the service, i.e., case conferences, professional meetings, reviews, etc., as required and preparing regular and special reports as may be required.
10. Taking responsibility for Health and Safety issues and ensuring all procedures are observed.
11. Organising the ordering of food, materials, and replacement of equipment as requested or required.
12. Recording all service business and assisting in the preparation of the Director’s report for the Board of Management meeting in the absence of the Director.
13. To partake in appropriate training for the role and assist in organising appropriate training for the staff.
14. Being aware of and implementing all legislation which is applicable to the legitimate running of the service.
15. Carrying out any other work deemed to be appropriate within the context of the service and allocated by the Director.
Minimum Requirements: Applications from candidates with Fetac Level 6 and upwards with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Service Profile: Tir na nÓg ECCE, Ballymun Day Nursery Ltd, caters for up to 120 children from aged 2 years to 5 years on a daily basis. We offer Full time, Part time and Sessional services. We operate an Early Years Service delivering a Play based curriculum grounded in and guided by Aistear (National Curriculum) and Siolta (Quality Framework). We endeavour to provide a high-quality inclusive service for children, focusing on their Social, Emotional, and Developmental needs, while maintaining for each child opportunities for self-expression through the development of language and reasoning abilities.
