Our client is a leading environmental services company providing a comprehensive range of wastewater and water solutions.
Overview of the Role
This role will report directly to the Operations Manager and manage a portfolio of projects in the Laois / Kilkenny areas.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the leadership team regarding the company's strategy, growth, and business plan.
* Manage delegated projects and assist where required with additional works.
* Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract for all assigned projects.
* Develop designated parts of the business in line with an agreed business plan.
* Take full ownership and responsibility for projects and project issues.
* Build and maintain good working relationships with Clients.
* Engage with stakeholders and liaise closely with management and departments during project execution, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
* Manage procurement within defined budgets and project completion programmes.
* Ensure all governance is in place and adhered to.
* Thoroughly monitor and control the delegated project portfolio.
* Prepare accurate and timely financial information, including monthly Client Reports, Internal Management Reports, and budgets/forecasts.
* Prepare monthly accounts and contract claims.
* Optimise plant operations while minimising risk or exposure to the Company.
* Anticipate and effectively manage risks and opportunities.
* Apply procedures related to contract execution.
* Liaise with the H&S Manager to ensure all H&S requirements are satisfied.
* Manage and direct a team of operatives both on and off-site, ensuring they are motivated and understand expectations. Delegate where possible while maintaining control.
Qualifications and Experience
* Leadership and Management experience.
* Experience within the water or wastewater industry.
* An appropriate engineering and management qualification or equivalent experience.
* Experience in the management of water/wastewater treatment plants.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative and assert authority.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Self-motivated.
