Compliance Analyst
The client is a world-renowned financial institution with a rich history dating back to 1987. Founded in Philadelphia, it has evolved into a global entity with offices worldwide, recognized for its disciplined trading approach and cutting-edge systems.
We have our European headquarters in Dublin, employing over 600 people across various departments including Trading, Technology, Research, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and HR.
Our team trades a diverse range of products on major European Exchanges from our Dublin trading hub, including Equity Options and Futures, Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, Convertible Bonds, and Commodities.
You will be part of our compliance monitoring team, responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance and other risks. Based on the trading floor, you will work closely with traders and operations teams, ideally having a good knowledge of financial instruments traded by The client. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a true front office trading environment.
In this role, you will:
* Carry out monitoring in accordance with the risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme.
* Carry out second-line real-time monitoring of the firm's algorithmic trading activity.
* Analyse compliance exception reports.
* Assist in ensuring that the firm complies with trading venue rules and relevant regulations, e.g., MiFID II, EMIR, MAR.
* Ensure that the identities of new counterparties are being processed in accordance with the account opening and anti-money laundering procedures.
* Check that procedures are followed in relation to controls around automated trading systems used by The client.
* Ensure that procedures are followed in relation to trading and counterparty limits.
* Assist in completing themed reviews of different business areas.
What we're looking for:
* A degree in business, preferably a finance or law-related discipline.
* Compliance experience preferably in the financial sector would be advantageous.
* Compliance-related qualification would be advantageous.
* An interest in financial markets and knowledge of financial instruments.
* A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
* Knowledge of Visual Basic / SQL would be advantageous.
* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* The ability to work well in a team.
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written) - ability to convey subject matter in a clear and concise manner.
