With operations in Ireland since 1946, Abbott serves the Irish market with a diverse range of healthcare products including diagnostics, diabetes care, medical devices, and nutritional products. In Ireland, we employ around 6,000 people across ten sites located in Dublin, Donegal, Clonmel, Cootehill, Galway, Kilkenny, Longford, and Sligo.

Making a Difference at Abbott
As a Cost Accountant, you will oversee various accounting activities to ensure financial resources are managed in accordance with accounting principles and comply with relevant regulations, laws, and standards. Your responsibilities may include:
1. Standard Costing: Setting standard costs for products, including long-range planning (3-5 years) and presenting to Senior Management.
2. Month-End Reporting: Ensuring efficient reporting and adherence to agreed timelines.
3. Plan/LBE Preparation: Assisting the Controller in preparing Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet analysis for Senior Management.
4. Business Analyst Support: Providing support to manufacturing departments to achieve goals and reduce costs.
5. Process Improvement: Developing and implementing standard work processes, visual management boards, and lean processes within finance.
6. Fixed Asset Management: Tracking, reporting, physical inventory, and controlling fixed assets.
7. Internal Audits: Scheduling and overseeing internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
8. RCEs and Project Expense Monitoring: Reviewing and reporting on RCEs and project expenses monthly, monitoring against budget.
9. EHS Compliance: Ensuring Environmental Health and Safety standards are met and adhering to EHS regulations and procedures.
10. EHS Performance and Compliance: Demonstrating accountability and responsibility for EHS performance and compliance through active participation and support of Abbott's EHS Program.
11. Reporting Injuries or Illnesses: Reporting work-related injuries or illnesses to employee health and assisting in investigations.
12. Update Procedures: Updating procedures to GMP, EHS, Technical, New equipment, Quality, and SOPs.
13. EHS Training: Participating in EHS training as assigned.
14. Presentation to Executive Management: Presenting to Executive Management.
Requirements
1. Professional Qualification: Professional qualification in accountancy and/or degree in accounting.
2. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Experience: 2-4 years' experience in the manufacturing industry.
