Job Opportunity: Housing Support Worker in Clare
Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, a non-profit homeless service provider, is expanding their team in County Clare.
The Role:
* Working as part of the housing team to deliver a ‘Housing First’ approach to individuals experiencing long-term homelessness in County Clare.
* Contract: Full-time, 1-year fixed-term contract.

Some of the Duties Include:
* Provide a safe, welcoming environment for clients who are out of home or at risk, including basic physical care and support within the service, respecting consumer choice and self-determination.
* Establish trusting relationships, especially with clients living on the streets or in temporary accommodation, and engage them in work that enables movement to a more stable lifestyle.
* Undertake assessments and support planning with clients as the lead agent using the Care and Case Management system and protocols, and other tools like STAR Outcome to help clients progress toward independent living.
* Develop methods, structures, and relationships to support clients with their individual housing, welfare rights, and entitlements, and to access move-on accommodation.
* Assist tenants in creating and maintaining a home, implementing practices aligned with tenancy settlement indicators.
* Build and maintain a portfolio of accommodation providers in social housing, the homeless sector, and private rented accommodation.
* Support clients during appointments with other services, e.g., doctors, counsellors, courts.
* Maintain a caseload of clients.
Requirements/Experience Needed:
* Degree in social care, youth work, or a related discipline.
* Knowledge and understanding of homelessness and related issues.
* Ability to plan and implement programs.
* Report writing skills and IT proficiency.
* Flexibility and strong communication skills.
* Full driver’s license with access to a car (desirable).
* Experience working with homeless clients, clients with dual diagnosis, and liaising with other agencies.
