This is a standalone role and you will need to develop strong and effective working relations with all project stakeholders and staff alike.Assess, develop, continuously improve and communicate GLF's Safety Statement / Policy, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and our 'Ways of Working' to promote a safe working culture.
You will be taking ownership of these on major projects across Ireland & UK.Collaborate with Senior Management, and in particular the Operations Director & Production Manager to coordinate the activities of the GLF staff and subcontractors.Minimise accidents and dangerous occurrences on sites and ensure all current regulations are complied with by our Site Staff and Management.Scope of DutiesImplement best EH&S practices in line with current legislation.Training of operatives/staff.Advice to management on EHS issues.Preparation / advice on preparation of Method Statements, Safety Statements, etc.Carry out risk assessments.Liaise with customers' Environmental Health and Safety personnel.Co-ordination of First Aid Training.Co-ordination of EHS training.Performing regular inspections and assessments to identify and evaluate potential on-site hazards.Work to eliminate risks and implement health and safety policies and procedures that protect workers from harm.Conducting daily environmental and safety audits.Communicate toolbox talks and carry out site inductionsLiaise with site subcontractors on safety.Assess and approve contractor(s) health and safety plans.Confirm necessary documentation was submitted to the relevant authorities.Inspect and examine all health and safety related complaints and workplace accidentsProvide monthly EHS metricsSupport the development of policies and programs within the business.Principal working relationships:Reports to the GLF Managing DirectorWorks closely with the GLF Operations Director, Contracts Manager, Production Manager and Design team.GLF Site Manager / ForemanGLF Sub-Contract Installers & Directly-employed installersGLF Head Office Team, including Technical Director, Commercial Manager, HR, Purchasing, Accounts, etc.Key Skills and KnowledgeA third level qualification in health and safety with 3 + years' experienceExperience of working in the field of construction or Architectural design (curtain walling).Excellent planning, communication and negotiation skills.The ability to unite and motivate the teams and encourage the pursuit of the same goals.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent the company in English (at least B2 level).Strong IT skillsAbility to identify and resolve EHS issuesFull driver's licenceKnowledge of ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO9001; ConstructionlineWhy join us?We are a leading façade specialist in Ireland and the UK (we offer the full value chain to our customers, from consultancy and design through to manufacturing and installation).We work on bespoke projects shaping the Irish and UK skylines.
