Personal Injury Legal Claims Professional
Employment Type: Full Time
Dunnes Stores is Ireland’s leading retailer with over 100 stores across the country. We are looking to recruit a high calibre Personal Injuries Legal Claims Professional. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to be part of a thriving business and a highly motivated team.
Responsibilities:
1. Proactively manage a high volume portfolio of Personal Injury and related claims including Employers, Public, Motor, and Product Liability claims.
2. Experience in discrimination claims brought to the WRC under the Equal Status Acts would be an advantage.
3. Advise on litigation strategies including any third-party involvement.
4. Achieve the best settlement outcomes either directly or in conjunction with our external legal teams.
5. Manage relationships with our business partners including panel solicitors, Senior and Junior Counsel, forensic engineers, cost accountants, private investigations, stenographers, and all relevant third parties as appropriate.
6. Manage all aspects of a claim from assessing liability, undertaking additional investigations, advising on appropriate reserves, and reporting directly to the Head of Insurance Claims.
7. Collate and safely manage key documents and papers relating to claims.
8. Adhere to all general data protection protocols.
9. Ensure the consistent and accurate management of the file.
10. Liaise directly with plaintiff solicitors pre-litigation.
11. Keep up to date with all recent court judgements on claims to assist the business.
12. Be a team player who takes pride in delivering a top-quality proactive service to the business.
Key Requirements:
1. You will be either a solicitor or a claims professional working within legal claims with a minimum of 5 years experience of personal Injury and related claims including Employers’ and Public Liability, Motor, and Product claims.
2. Exceptional attention to detail.
3. Exceptional negotiation skills.
4. Strong fees and cost management skills would be a distinct advantage.
5. Evidence of strong communication skills is essential – the role requires an ability to communicate confidently both verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner.
6. Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to meet required deadlines.
7. The ability to produce work to an exceptionally high standard.
8. IT competence in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
9. Team-working skills – a flexible and self-motivated team player who is able to respect and support others within the team to achieve common goals.
10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to demonstrate experience of building strong relationships for the business.
11. Analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
