Job Overview
TE Connectivity Sensors business unit is looking for a product development engineer with a medical background to join the product development team in Galway (Ireland). Interested candidates must be able to communicate effectively, interact with global cross-functional project teams including product management, sales, manufacturing, operations, and other functions, and successfully influence stakeholders (both internal and external) to ensure profit-oriented projects.
As a R&D/Product Development Engineer, you will conceive original ideas for new medical sensors and introduce them into practice.
The R&D/Product Development Engineering provides all required product documentation including, but not limited to, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. Create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Product development (Including 3D modeling, drawing, DFMEA, requirement management…)
* Develop and update design documentation including test protocols, technical reports, and engineering summaries to support regulatory and quality documentation.
* Assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
* Conduct feasibility studies on improved manufacturing processes.
* Prepare, present and lead design reviews to attain agreement on projects with cross-functional review teams.
* Direct and support detailed design.
* Risk assessment.
What your background should look like:
* Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or directly related field.
* 3 years of professional experience in product design.
* Background in design for manufacturing.
* Proficiency in English (C1) is required.
* Experience in medical device design is required.
* Knowledge of medical quality systems and procedures is required.
* Experience in biocompatibility for surface devices is desired.
* Experience in mechatronics or sensors industry is desired.
* DFSS certification is desired.
