Job Summary:
The Rapid Responder HCA plays a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred care to individuals in their homes. This role involves responding promptly to urgent care needs, offering support to regular care assistants, and ensuring continuity of care.
Responsibilities:
1. Emergency Response:
o Respond promptly to urgent calls and provide immediate care and support to customers.
o Assess client needs quickly and efficiently to deliver appropriate care interventions.
o Communicate effectively with the care management team to report on the situation and actions taken.
o Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, and any other specific approaches as laid out within the care plan.
2. Personal Care:
o Assist customers with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
o Support customers with mobility, ensuring safe transfers and use of equipment where necessary.
o Prompt medication as prescribed, following company policies and procedures.
o Ensure each task performed with the Customer is completed with dignity and respect.
3. Emotional and Social Support:
o Provide companionship and emotional support to customers, encouraging social interaction and participation in activities.
o Assist with meal preparation and household tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
4. Coordination and Communication:
o Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, family members, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
o Maintain clear and timely communication with the care management team regarding any concerns or updates on client care.
o Work together with the Branch manager and Care Coordinator teams.
Qualifications:
* Full QQI Level 5 Health care Award or equivalent - Essential
* Full clean driver’s license – Essential

* GDPR Training – HSE LAND
* AMRIC Basics of Infection Prevention and Control - HSE LAND

Experience:
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is essential.

Hours of work (Full-Time):
* 4 or 3 days per week
* 12-hour shifts, 72 hours Fortnightly
* Every second weekend
* You must be available 8 am-10 pm with a 1-hour break per day.

* 3 days per week
* 29 hours per week
* Every second weekend
* You must be available Friday: 5pm - 10pm & Saturday & Sunday: 8 am-10 pm with a 1-hour break per 12 hour day.
