We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to guide our association into its next phase of development in the renewable energy space. The successful candidate will have a strong background in regulatory affairs and power systems engineering. They will play a key role in shaping electricity policy and regulation, focusing on demand side issues related to markets and networks.
Main Responsibilities:
* Advocate for demand side flexibility among various stakeholders, establishing trust and credibility.
* Develop and implement innovative strategic branding, communications, and thought leadership initiatives to raise awareness about the benefits of demand side flexibility within the energy industry.
* Manage the organization's resources effectively to deliver maximum value to members, ensure strong membership retention and growth, and set the association's budget in alignment with its goals.
* Foster a comprehensive understanding of the Irish and European policy and regulatory landscape, championing changes that align with overall energy policy objectives and create a stable environment for investment in demand side flexibility.
* Lead the regulatory strategy to maximize effectiveness, monitoring performance, and delivering regulatory requirements.
* Conduct research on international policy and regulatory approaches to inform their applicability to demand response in Ireland.
Requirements:
* At least 10 years of experience in the energy or power sector, with a demonstrated understanding of power systems and demand side flexibility benefits.
* Able to represent the organization as a national spokesperson and public advocate for the demand response sector.
* A degree and/or postgraduate qualification in economics, engineering, or a closely related field.
* Possess exceptional leadership, influencing, networking, and organizational skills.
* Able to draft clear, concise, and evidence-based documentation.
* Strong technical knowledge and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
