Senior EHS Officer Role Based in Limerick

This opportunity has arisen for a Senior EHS Officer to join the team in Limerick, working alongside world-class scientists, engineers, analysts, and experienced business leaders who are committed to growth, innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Reporting to the HSQE Manager, the successful candidate will assist in ensuring compliance with company, national, and European health and safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide reports and key H&S metrics as required, track all H&S incidents, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement while ensuring statutory reporting of accidents, incidents, hazard identification, and ill health is undertaken.
* Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and improve safety standards.
* Carry out periodic inspections and audits of all safety equipment, including Personal Protective Equipment.
* Work with the teams to develop and document processes and procedures for works carried out while adhering to legislative requirements.
* Develop, review, and update risk assessments and method statements.
* Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that effective document control and record-keeping measures are in place.
* Communicate findings and actions from audits and investigations to project management and HSE Manager and assist with the closure of issues.
* Coach and mentor employees in creating a positive safety culture to ensure everyone is aware of and competent in managing their HSE responsibilities.
* Build strong and collaborative working relationships with peers in client organizations.
* Provide training and information to the workforce using appropriate training aids and media, communicating and promoting initiatives for accident prevention and greater EHS awareness.
Requirements:
* A third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety (or other equivalent 3rd-level qualification).
* At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a technological, production, or hazardous industry environment.
* Appropriate knowledge of Safety, Environmental, Quality Management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
* Strong knowledge of current health and safety regulations and best practices applicable to industrial environments.
