Orange Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Psychologist to join a well-established, reputable organisation specialising in Disability Services.

Overview:
Duties:
* Provide a range of psychological services as required in partnership with children and families including assessment, review, programme implementation, behaviour management and differential diagnosis.
* Be responsible for the delivery of professional psychology services appropriate to the post in line with best practice.
* Manage and coordinate service delivery in area of responsibility.
* Assign duties and responsibilities as appropriate to ensure effective service delivery.
* Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people with respect to their psychological needs.
* Contribute a psychological perspective to case planning and multi-agency case working.
* Contribute towards the ongoing development of the service, including participation in the evaluation of service delivery and in research initiatives.
* Monitor and keep up-to-date with developments in psychology and disseminate information where relevant to staff and families.
* Attend training courses and participate in activities for continuing professional development.
* Contribute to and participate in training initiatives for staff.
* Attend and actively contribute to relevant clinical, professional and service meetings.
* Develop and forge good working relationships with other agencies, networks and HSE.
* Work as part of the inter/trans-disciplinary team, providing an integrated service to children and families and contributing to the development of person-centred plans.
* Provide advice/support programmes for parents and families.
* Work in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team in the planning and delivery of services for children.
* Keep the Children's Services Manager/CDNT Manager informed of new and emerging needs of service users.
* Communicate effectively with parents of children attending the service.
* Make decisions in a transparent manner by involving and empowering families.
* Maintain quality standards and participate in quality developments.
* Maintain statistical records and provide information for service planning to management as required.
* With the team, provide budget submissions, annual reports and other relevant reports as required.
* Provide supervision to basic grade staff and/or assistant psychologists (if any) and supervise students as required.
* Induction of new staff.
* Attend training in Child Protection as required.
* Promote and deliver services within the ethos and philosophy of Enable Ireland.
* Perform any other duties appropriate to the position over time.
Requirements:
* University degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject.
* Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
* Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for.
* Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the postgraduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post qualification experience as a professional psychologist.
* Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years' experience requirement.
* Previous experience in a senior post.
* Experience of inter-disciplinary team working.
* Skills and competencies with assessment and intervention with mental health needs as they present in children/young people with disabilities.
* Experience of working with children aged from birth to 18 years, with a range of disabilities (including physical disability, autism, learning disability) and their families.
* Experience and qualification in completing diagnostic work-ups including ASD, Developmental Delay and Intellectual Disability.
