We are seeking a motivated and experienced Site Manager, ideally with experience in solar /substation projects, to oversee the day-to-day operations of a solar farm. The ideal candidate will ensure the successful execution of projects, manage site personnel, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge in solar energy systems, and a commitment to achieving project goals.
Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee all site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
· Manage and coordinate site personnel, civil/mechanical/electrical subcontractors, and vendors.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies; conduct regular safety audits and training.
· Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports; track progress and address any issues.
· Communicate back to head office management project progress, EHS and QA KPI’s and highlight bottlenecks that might effect the above.
· Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
· Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, quality, and adherence to plans.
· Implement best practices for site management and operational efficiency.
· Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
· Prepare documentation for project milestones and provide regular updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related trades experience).
· Experience as a Site Manager in solar energy/sub station projects preferred but not required.
· PCSC experience beneficial
· Full Clean Driving License
· Irish Construction requirements knowledge particularly around EHS
· Knowledge of renewable energy systems Solar PV, Wind Turbines, sub stations would be an advantage
· Strong understanding of solar technology, installation techniques, and electrical systems.
· Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to solar installations
· Experience working with a main contractor, subcontractor, or similar preferred
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
