Our client is a leading offshore shipowner currently establishing its European Headquarters in Ireland. They are seeking to fill several positions including the recruitment of a marine superintendent with experience providing management for offshore vessels, primarily PSVs and FIBs.
Spoken Spanish language skills would be a distinct advantage for applicants.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Act as point of contact for all marine matters for the fleet.
* Review all ISM/SMS for fleet and propose schedule to Head of Technical/Operations.
* Ongoing monitoring of marine operations expenditure including the opportunity to incorporate new systems and technologies to ensure the ongoing efficiency of the fleet.
* Review marine operations and give expert advice prior to operations.
* Set marine policies and produce company standards and procedures.
* Provide support where necessary to the Engineering and Project Management group for the planning and implementation of Marine modifications / upgrading for the vessels.
* Attend Incident investigation, DP incident and MCI as and when required.
* Monitor training and able to give expert advice to offshore marine personnel.
* Ensure regulatory compliance for Flag.
* Stay updated on relevant Authority and Class Society advice.
* Monitor and ensure that Class authority’s recommendations are timely executed.
* Preparation of reports regarding Marine Operations.
* Assist Onshore Emergency Team upon request.
Qualifications:
* Spanish language skills would be a distinct advantage.
* The Marine Superintendent will be a fully qualified Master Mariner Class 1 Unlimited Certificate of competency and/or Unlimited DP license, or a marine superintendent with experience working in the offshore sector.
* Sound knowledge of the Offshore / Oil & Gas sectors.
* Experience working on DP vessels preferred.
* Must have good communication skills in English both verbally and in writing
* The candidate must have good managerial skills and ability to lead by example.
* Monitor Marine internal audits of all assets to required standards.
* Preference will be given to those with experience and or certification in relevant auditing processes.
* Experience in DP FMEA and Annual trials.
* Candidates must possess the immediate right to live and work in the European Economic Area (EEA).
