About the role
As Senior Project Manager in our Transportation Department, you will report to the Head of Transportation and support the delivery and growth of our transportation business.
The role will involve the management of projects internationally and coordinating the submission of new business opportunities.
With most projects located in Sub-Saharan Africa, it would be an advantage, but not essential, if you had some experience or knowledge of similar projects in this region and an understanding of International Funding Institutions such as the Millenium Challenge Corporation, the World Bank, EIB, African Development Bank, and European Union.
Core role requirements:
Below represents the core responsibilities of this role;
1. The role will encompass all aspects of effective Project Management and will vary from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
2. Resource Management - Identifying key resources that are required for existing or future projects and coordinating with our tender and recruitment teams to fill these roles.
3. Management of existing contracts which will include. Liaising with existing team leaders Management of project resources Coordinating in-country logistics with our business support teams
4. Financial management of projects including cash flow analysis, invoice coordination, tracking of payments, management of sub-consultants, etc all in collaboration with our team leaders and finance department.
5. Business Development including Targeted business development in line with our growth strategy. Tracking opportunities Coordinating pre-qualifications and tender submissions with our bids department for review and approval with the Head of the Department.
6. Client relationship management which may involve meeting new and/or prospective clients.
7. Work with our HSQE department to support our site teams in implementing our Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Procedures.
While based in our Dublin office we expect the role will provide opportunities for international travel to countries where projects or potential projects are located.
Qualifications and Experience:-
Training & Education
8. The ideal candidate will preferably be degree-qualified with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Project Management.
9. Having experience delivering major infrastructure projects, preferrable in the international markets and transportation sector, would be an advantage but not essential.
Technical Knowledge
10. You will have an excellent understanding of Project and Contract Management.
11. Candidates with a proven track record in design and design coordination of transportation projects will have an advantage.
12. Knowledge of and experience in the use of FIDIC, NEC, and other forms of contract will be an added advantage.
