16 hours a week - Youth Coach
Island Youthways have an opportunity for a Youth Coach based at our nurturing provision in Newport.
We provide an environment where vulnerable young people feel safe, listened to, and supported to flourish to their full potential while transitioning into life as young adults. Many may have experienced or are experiencing different traumas, including emotional needs, mental health needs, and offending. For this reason, we are looking for someone who:
* Is kind & caring, empathetic & compassionate
* Has experience with teenagers and young people & genuinely likes working with people
* Is self-motivated to motivate young people
* Able to be adaptable and keen to build positive influential relationships
* Is friendly & a team player, who can solve problems
* Is a driver with use of a car and business insurance
The purpose of this role is to work closely with the young people & develop good relationships to support them with day-to-day life skills, employment and education, appointments, wellbeing, and any other challenges that adult life might bring.
The shift patterns available are part-time, 16 hours a week over three shifts a fortnight. The shifts include sleep-ins, evenings, and some weekends. Once the hours are agreed, they will be contracted and set on a two-week rota.
Rates of pay are good, with the lowest rate being in line with the national living wage.
