turboTEM is an Irish startup specialising in building the next generation of electron microscopy instruments. We aim to democratise advanced microscopy by creating higher-performance, more flexible and more affordable electron microscope components and accessories.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Dublin, Ireland for a TEM Applications Specialist. The Applications Specialist will be responsible for delivering application support, troubleshooting, technical support, and maintaining strong communication with our internal teams and clients. The role will include contributing to ongoing R&D projects, as well as supporting customers with installations, on-site training and follow-up or remote support. The role will support the international delivery and support of our 'Pulse' and 'Tempo' products.
This role is primarily on-site, but flexible working and some hybrid working is possible. International travel and occasional weekend work (e.g. to/from customer sites) may be required.

Qualifications
* PhD or equivalent experience in electron microscopy or a related field (e.g. Physics or Engineering).
* Independent operator of STEM instruments, (and preferably also TEM and SEM).
* Nationality/passport for work and travel in Ireland, the UK, the EU and internationally.
Skills Required (essential)
* Clear analytical skills and troubleshooting abilities.
* Experience in application support and technical support including writing and updating manuals.
* Strong communication skills including delivering academic presentations and manuscripts.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Attention to detail, specifications, quality control and record keeping.
Beneficial Skills (preferred)
* An interest in electronics, electronic engineering or electronics fabrication & testing.
* Experience with programming, preferably Python.
* Inventory, stock management or supply planning skills.
* Good level of IT and device networking ability.
* Familiarity with technical drawings (2D or 3D) and/or CAD design.
