Details of Service
Cork University Hospital (CUH) has approximately 800 beds, with plans to increase to 1,000 beds on completion of the transfer of additional services. CUH employs approximately 3,269 (WTE) staff and is the primary teaching hospital for the Faculty of Health and Science in University College Cork (UCC).
CUH is a designated Major Trauma Centre for the Republic of Ireland, delivering a wide range of specialties including Neurosciences, Cardiac Services, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, and more. CUH serves a catchment population of approximately 550,000 and acts as a supra-regional centre for a total population of 1.1 million.
CUH is the only tertiary referral centre for liver disease outside of Dublin in the Munster area, providing comprehensive Hepatology services. The Hepatology multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide the highest level of care available.
Purpose of the Post
The post of CNM 2 has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities include quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication, and providing professional/clinical leadership.
