As an Information Security Engineer, this role is going to be the first line triage for cybersecurity related incidents and events. This individual is responsible for managing the security incidents and security events on higher level. This role will involve automating processes and will have lot of engagement with stakeholders.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities of an Information Security Engineer:
Triage, escalation, and assisting the response of cybersecurity related events and incidents
Manage containment and remediation efforts of affected assets, IOCs, and TTPs
Act as a high tier escalation point for security incidents to provide technical expertise to the cyber incident/event management process.
Grow and mature automated response processes in Cyber Event Management
Strong ability to collaborate, delegate tasks and drive deadline compliance in a highly regulated, time sensitive environment
Produce detailed incident reports and security recommendations
Hold stakeholders accountable for remediation actions
Providing training and guidance through complex incidents
Develop strong relationships with technical personnel from various disciplines to assist with projects, process improvements, and process documentation
Liaison with Cyber Defense, Privacy, Compliance, Business, Legal, and Architecture teams
Influence the creation and/or adoption of new standards and procedures
Identify deficiencies in processes and tools, recommend security controls and/or corrective actions for mitigating technical and business risk. Contribute to Lessons Learned Meetings.
Monitor security intake technologies for reports of security incidents
On-Call duties may be required
Required Qualifications of an Information Security Engineer:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Proven experience in IT Security or Cyber Security experience in any of the following areas:o Incident Responseo Email Securityo Data Protection\Governance o Cybersecurity threat detection, monitoring and reportingo Cyber Intelligence and Threat Huntingo Vulnerability Management
Experience analyzing attack vectors, current threats, and security remediation strategies
Networking experience (including the OSI Model, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP), System Administration, and Security Architecture
Programming in Python, Java, or Go.
Preferred Qualifications of an Information Security Engineer:
CISSP, CISA, GCIH, CEH, CHFI, CCSP, SEC+
Knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
