Job Title: Engineering Manager
JOB PURPOSE:
To manage and coordinate the activities of the Maintenance Department so as to provide support for the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost-effective, and efficient manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for all maintenance aspects within the site.
* Provide maintenance/engineering support for the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost-effective, and efficient manner.
* Lead a team of Maintenance Technicians/Fitters and contractors across the plant supporting all production departments in line with key business goals.
* Responsible for managing the site's equipment preventative maintenance program through the CMMS system.
* Responsible for identifying critical Plant assets and ensuring required spares and PM programs are in place.
* Responsible for ensuring that factory equipment operates to design capacities, throughputs, and effectiveness.
* Responsible for developing factory maintenance budget for approval and managing site maintenance costs to meet approved maintenance budget.
* Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety.
* Ensures all engineering activities within factory are developed to the appropriate health and safety standards.
* Responsible for maintaining plant asset register.
* Responsible for maintaining effective stock control of spare parts for all equipment.
* Manage the skills versatility of the Maintenance team to ensure a high level of cross-trained technical capability exists within the team.
* Responsible for the suitable selection & hiring of Maintenance technical staff in support of the business.
* Ensures site complies with all related regulatory standards.
* Ensure contingency response for out of hours and critical failures.
* Continually interface with operations and quality to ensure that the maintenance function is supporting the business on an ongoing basis.
* Report and communicate effectively with the senior management team on an ongoing basis.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:
• Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or Electrical).
• 5 Years' experience in a maintenance management role.
• A trade qualification with significant previous experience in a similar role would be considered.
• Previous relevant experience in milk processing regulated environment is an advantage.
• A proven track record in the leadership & management of technical staff is required.
