Job Purpose:
To provide support across the warehouse and trade counter, ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation. This is a dual role involving both physical work and front-facing sales interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Duties:
* Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders efficiently and accurately.
* Receive and check deliveries, ensuring goods are stored safely and appropriately.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
* Operate forklifts and other equipment (training provided if needed).
* Carry out stock checks and assist with inventory control.
Sales Counter Duties:
* Greet and serve customers at the trade counter in a professional and friendly manner.
* Assist customers with product queries, pricing, and technical information.
* Process sales orders, returns, and payments using the POS system.
* Upsell or recommend products and promotions when appropriate.
* Maintain a clean and presentable sales counter/display area.
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in a warehouse or builders’ merchant environment preferred.
* Customer service experience, ideally in a trade counter or retail setting.
* Basic numeracy and computer skills.
* Forklift licence (desirable but not essential—training can be provided).
* Product knowledge of roofing/building materials is a plus, but training will be provided.

* Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
* Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
* Willingness to learn and grow within the business.
Working Hours:
[Insert hours, e.g., Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm, alternate Saturdays as required]
