About the Job
The lab manager will lead a team of laboratory professionals and be responsible for designing, setting up, and executing performance and functional testing on critical cooling equipment manufactured for data centers.
This individual will also conduct customer-requested performance testing, create testing procedures, and generate high-quality test reports. Furthermore, the lab manager will collaborate with design, applications, and electrical engineering groups to ensure all testing requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily supervision of laboratory operations and personnel.
* Management of laboratory equipment maintenance, including chillers, boilers, generators, electrical, and control systems.
* Coordination of the test lab schedule based on project deadlines, customer test requirements, and resource availability.
* Development and implementation of tests for HVAC equipment, including installation of new lab test equipment as needed.
* Conducting tests on HVAC equipment, including chilled water systems, refrigeration systems, fans, and electrical systems.
* Preparation of detailed and accurate reports on testing and provision of constructive feedback to other engineering departments.
* Management of maintenance contacts for laboratory equipment.
* Collaboration with the Quality Manager to oversee the calibration of all laboratory instruments, ensuring they are available and functioning according to testing requirements.
