Job Description:
A key position as Commercial Director in a leading construction company.
You will lead projects to success by directing a team of commercial experts. Strong travel capabilities are essential, given the requirement for regular site visits in the UK.
This role requires an in-depth understanding of construction contracts, health and safety regulations, industry practices, and strong analytical and leadership skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to overall business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a team of commercial professionals, including Quantity Surveyors, Buyers, and Commercial Managers.
* Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project goals.
* Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the commercial team.
* Analyse financial performance on projects, identifying areas for cost optimization.
* Monitor and control cost variations, implementing corrective actions as needed.
* Prepare detailed financial reports for senior management.
* Negotiate and administer construction contracts with clients and subcontractors.
* Manage contract variations and claims, ensuring fair and accurate pricing.
* Develop pricing strategies and proposals for potential projects.
* Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Professional qualification such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
* Extensive experience in construction project commercial management.
* Proven track record of successful project delivery within budget.
