Based in our R&D facility in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland, and reporting to the Product Development Engineering Manager, the Associate Mechanical Engineer will partake in a number of projects from concept to post-production.
Vitalograph is the world's leading manufacturers of medical respiratory diagnostic devices and software, used in the diagnosis of respiratory disorders, and advanced high-reliability equipment and software systems used in respiratory end-point clinical drug trials.
The role
The Associate Mechanical Engineer will have recently graduated and will work in one of our Spirometry project teams, to help drive continuous roadmap delivery. Spirometry is a common office test used to assess how well your lungs work by measuring how much air you inhale, how much you exhale and how quickly you exhale. Spirometry is used to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other conditions that affect breathing.
The responsibilities of Associate Mechanical Engineer will includ
* Developing some aspects of the development roadmap.
* Ensuring project artefacts e.g. documentation are delivered at each release point.
* Technical evaluation of competitors equipment.
* Assist in the design and development of the new products.
* Assist in the maintenance of the existing products.
* Operating in the project team in a co-operative, respectful manner.
* Maintaining a positive and motivating outlook.
* Liaison with ex-house consultants and agencies.
* Liaison with R&D, Production, Materials, Quality, Sales and Marketing staff
* Assisting in the delivery of engineering outcomes.
* Ensuring that all work and tasks carried out are consistent and compliant with our Quality Management System.
The ideal candidate
• Have a 3rd level degree, or equivalent, in a Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong team ethic.
• Have the ability to perform the duties specified effectively and efficiently.
• Complete all aspects of a given task timely, and to a high standard.
• Communicate effectively with those he/she works with.
• Have a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
