We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Supply Chain for our client, a leading company in the electrical contracting and consultancy sector.
This role will be pivotal in managing the entire supply chain operation, ensuring the seamless flow of materials, production, logistics, and inventory management to support the companys business objectives.
Job Summary: The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing.
This role ensures that the procurement, production, inventory, distribution, and logistics functions operate cohesively to achieve business goals such as cost efficiency, timely delivery, and quality control.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this position requires leadership, strong multitasking, and prioritisation skills, working across teams and external suppliers to optimise supply chain functions.
The role is primarily office-based with occasional travel to supplier sites, warehouses, and project locations.

Required Qualifications: - Education: Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, ideally within public lighting, electrical equipment, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Certifications: APICS, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma certifications are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Supplier Management: - Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and quality supply of materials.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues regarding quality, delivery, or compliance.
- Evaluate and select new suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability criteria.
Inventory Management: - Oversee and optimise inventory levels to prevent stock imbalances.
- Implement strategies to improve inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
Logistics & Distribution: - Manage the transportation and delivery of materials to customers and project sites.
- Collaborate with logistics partners to optimise routes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Resolve shipping, customs, and regulatory compliance issues.
Demand Forecasting & Planning: - Work with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
- Ensure supply chain processes align with forecasted demand to guarantee timely deliveries and production schedules.
Cost Management & Optimization: - Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities across the supply chain.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for suppliers, logistics methods, and inventory strategies.
- Ensure processes adhere to budgetary and financial goals.
Quality Control & Compliance: - Ensure compliance with industry standards and government regulations for all materials and processes.
- Implement quality control measures across the supply chain.
- Work with the quality team to address any product defects or quality issues.
Team Leadership & Development: - Lead and mentor the supply chain team to foster a high-performance culture.
- Provide support and guidance to help team members achieve departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and sales.
Data Analysis & Reporting: - Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead times, costs, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management highlighting supply chain performance and areas for improvement.
- Use data analytics to inform procurement, inventory, and logistics strategies.
