The BNY Cyber Threat Intelligence Group (CTIG), as a part of the Information Security Division (ISD), supports BNY’s global operations by helping detect and defend against cyber criminals and advanced threat groups, discovering and analyzing cyber threat information to produce actionable intelligence that enhances situational awareness of threats to the institution and its clients and enables the ISD to proactively adjust its defensive posture.
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Strategic Intelligence Team Lead - Cyber Threat Intelligence Group to join our Information Security Division team. This role is located in Dublin (hybrid).
We are seeking a seasoned intelligence professional to support the Strategic Intelligence Team Lead in developing, implementing, and managing the processes, procedures, communication, production, and partnerships necessary to mitigate cybersecurity and geopolitical threats related to BNY. The professional/role will serve in the Dublin location and support the global strategic coverage of both cyber threat and geopolitical intelligence. Additionally, we require the professional/role to be able to accommodate US and APAC regional colleagues and be flexible due to time zone differences.
A successful candidate must possess strong knowledge of the cyber and geopolitical threat landscape and understand the nexus between these topics, as well as be able to independently evaluate, analyze, and synthesize large quantities of fragmented and contradictory information, and write analyses and agile intelligence deliverables of varying length for a variety of audiences. Additionally, a successful candidate can readily prepare and deliver cyber threat and geopolitical focused intelligence briefings targeted at audiences with varying levels of technical expertise and cyber awareness.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate threat intelligence into enterprise security, risk, and vulnerability mitigation strategies.
2. Write threat assessments to assist in understanding relevance to the enterprise along with potential impacts.
3. Continuously evaluate and improve CTIG processes, procedures, and workflows.
4. Engage in threat actor ranking and profiling.
5. Identify issues to escalate, track, and prioritize threats
6. Author all source intelligence products covering geopolitical, cyber, and strategic intelligence and the nexus between these areas.
7. Interface with, acquire and share threat intelligence from external sources and collaborate with close industry, government, and law enforcement partners.
8. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
9. Ensure effective international team communication and collaboration.
10. Mentor and aid in the development and work of junior analysts on the team
11. Supervise research and development of new products.
12. Meet with stakeholders and develop new relationships, understanding their intelligence needs and priorities translating into PIRs, collection requirements, and targeted intelligence production.
13. Assist other infosec teams and intelligence teams when indicated provide support for CTIG’s tactical intelligence mission.
Qualifications
14. Capable of self-sufficient and self-motivated work ensuring high quality and timely delivery of actionable finished intelligence products.
15. Strong background in in geopolitical related assessments and issues. A strong understanding of global security issues, conflicts, political movements, international organizations and relations, economics, and law is a plus.
16. Strong knowledge of cyber threats, attack methods and techniques, vulnerabilities, significant security incidents, and threat actors.
17. Strong background in strategic intelligence and ability to identify important long-term trends and make predictive assessments.
18. Significant experience in information security, including knowledge of multiple operating systems, platforms, and network protocols.
19. Ability to work with alternative analysis, analysis of competing hypothesis, and indicators and warnings, as well as structured analytic techniques.
20. Significant experience in evaluating, analysing, and synthesizing large quantities of data for the purposes of identifying malicious activity and drafting agile intelligence products.
21. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to brief to Senior leadership within ISD and other lines of business.
22. Strong experience using the Intelligence Cycle, Cyber Kill Chain, and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
23. Industry certifications such as CISSP or SANS certifications a plus.
24. Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely for a variety of audiences with various levels of understanding of geopolitical and technical issues.
25. Experience in the securities, financial services, or digital assets industry a plus.
26. Experience in the Intelligence Community or law enforcement as an intelligence analyst a plus
