Title: Management Accountant - Permanent
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Naas (Open to Hybrid 1/2 days wfh)
Purpose of Job:
To produce the management accounts and preparation of the monthly Flash forecast & Management accounts.
Management Accounts and Other Accounting Issues:
1. Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
2. Ensure monthly management accounts are produced accurately and in line with the predetermined timescales set by the group with a view to improving on the deadlines set.
3. Responsible for ensuring that balance sheet nominal codes are reconciled monthly.
4. Responsible for the fixed asset register.
5. Preparation of interim and year-end audit packs incorporating accounting policies, including production of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors and taxation consultants.
6. Ad hoc accounts support.
7. Ensure any intercompany balances are kept up to date and agreed.
8. Other duties and special projects as required by the Managing Director.
Procedures:
Ensure compliance with group authorisation policies and maintain awareness of all IT systems, procedures, and changes thereto.
Risk Management:
Ensure that there are systems to validate the existence of all hire fleet, other fixed assets, and inventory. This includes ensuring adequate inspection procedures are in place for assets on long-term hire and the introduction and development of audit procedures.
The Person
Ideal Person Specification:
1. AAT/ CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA Qualified (Part qualified will be considered).
2. Analytical mindset, with excellent attention to detail.
3. Comfortable with Financial and Management Accounts.
4. Excellent Excel skills a strong advantage.
5. Knowledge of how data is stored, queried, and manipulated (Extract, Transform, Load).
6. Self-motivated individual, with a strong desire to develop the finance function and the wider business.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial team members.
8. Willing to challenge the status quo, bringing fresh ideas to the finance function and the business with demonstrable ability to work under pressure.
9. Rapidly build cross-functional relationships, quickly building trust and credibility across the business, creating a culture of strong financial discipline to allow for continued business agility.
10. Engage with business leaders to ensure clear and transparent communication and financial understanding across the senior leadership team.
