The Role
You’ll be responsible for formulating the data retention strategy based on the business and regulatory requirements of large businesses in Ireland.
1. Define and implement policies for the lifecycle management of data, including data retention, archiving, and disposal.
2. Understand data retention requirements from various business units and across multiple data domains.
3. Design data retention, archiving, and purging strategy for existing and newly created data.
4. Design data recovery and backup strategy to be applied to any existing and newly created data.
5. Define the technical implementation roadmap and implement policies and procedures for data retention, disposal, and archiving.
6. Develop and maintain a retention schedule for different types of data.
7. Monitor data retention policies and procedures to ensure they are being followed.
8. Perform data analysis to identify potential data retention issues and recommend solutions.
9. Stay up to date with changing legal and regulatory requirements related to data retention.
10. Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement and maintain data retention policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience Needed
1. Extensive hands-on experience in a similar role.
2. Significant experience in Software Development and Agile.
3. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations related to data retention.
4. Ability to perform Elicitation of needs.
5. Hands-on implementation experience of complex Data Retention projects.
