The Role: The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the finance department and managing the company's financial operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will be a key member of senior management and will lead a team of three finance professionals and work closely with a retiring Finance Manager to ensure a smooth transition and continued excellence in financial management. Responsibilities: Team Management:Oversee the Finance Department, currently consisting of three staff members Financial IT Systems Management:Manage and oversee all existing financial IT systems which including SAGE, GenWaste, Timemoto, and the SharePoint Finance Library Management Accounts:Oversee the preparation of management accounts. Budgeting:Prepare budgets for construction projects, new initiatives, and departmental activities. Cost Accounting & Pricing:Implement cost accounting practices and oversee pricing strategies. Credit Policy & Systems:Develop and maintain the companys credit policies and systems. Banking & Financial Administration:Administer banking operations, including financing of equipment, bonds, and foreign currency transactions. Annual Audit & Compliance:Lead the annual audit process and ensure compliance with company law Taxation:Handle all tax-related matters, including R&D tax claims Revenue Returns:Ensure timely and accurate submission of all revenue returns Payroll & Staff Pensions:Manage payroll processes and staff pension schemes Grants & Funding Applications:Manage the financial aspects of grant and funding applications. Insurance:Oversee all insurance-related matters for the company. The Person: Proven experience in a financial management role, preferably within a similar industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team. Proficiency in financial and other IT systems Excellent knowledge of Irish accounting standards, tax laws, and company law compliance. Experience in budgeting, cost accounting, and financial analysis. Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
