Superb opportunity for an experienced Financial Analyst to join the European Finance team of a leading investment bank at a time of significant growth and expansion.
The Senior Analyst will work as part of the Financial Reporting and Control team which is responsible for the integrity and quality of the financial statements, reports and disclosures for the Group's European entities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and post journal entries (e.g. accruals, prepayments, recharges, suspense account clearing entries, settlement, tax transfer pricing) in adherence to the month-end close timetable.
2. Treasury related activities (i.e. Bank account reconciliation, tracking and investigating payments/receipts)
3. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules and investigate variances.
4. Draft year-end financial statements and work with auditors to ensure timely audit completion.
5. Maintain working papers to an appropriately high standard to satisfy local financial reporting standards.
6. Prepare returns and disclosures for Head Office reporting.
7. Maintain awareness of changes to UK/Ireland and International accounting standards
8. Ensure all processes are fully documented and adhere to group standards.
9. Ad hoc reporting and assist with projects as required.
10. Develop and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders and communicate recommendations effectively.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
2. 3+ years post qualification experience within a finance team/department or accountancy practice.
3. Prior experience in Banking/ Financial Services is preferable.
4. Experience in financial statement preparation.
5. Awareness of accounting principles for UK/Irish GAAP and IFRS.
6. Ability to work autonomously, managing a busy and varied workload and develop/improve processes where necessary.
7. Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines.
8. A highly motivated individual with strong technical & excel skills with a desire to develop their career in the Financial Services industry.
9. High proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
