Project Manager, MedTech
Our client, a MedTech company based in Galway, is experiencing rapid growth due to a combination of NPDs/NPIs coming through R&D and recent medical acquisitions. They now seek an experienced Project Manager who will work cross-functionally with local and global stakeholders. This is a hybrid role, with some on-site presence required in the Galway office and some travel as needed.
The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects from small to large scope, including schedule, scope, costs, and resources. Project sizes range from small one-off tasks to large process improvements, design changes, design transfers, line extensions, and corporate initiatives driving global productivity.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with functional heads, as well as develop cohesive and collaborative cross-functional teams to drive project execution throughout project lifecycle phases.
Responsibilities for Project Manager, MedTech:
1. Project/Program Management, including developing and implementing overall project plans, including cost, schedule, risk, and performance, and monitoring progress against business key objectives and goals.
2. Lead the team in appropriate decision-making through strong judgment and the ability to analyze options and implications.
3. Direct control over activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs, and/or operations.
4. Communication, including PM team and cross-functional level communications, and critical business decisions to the appropriate management boards and/or functional managers.
5. Relationship/People Management, including leading and coaching cross-functional project team members to execute towards overall project goals.
6. Provide input to cross-functional Managers/Directors on team and team member performance.
7. Product/Compliance Management, including product design and process changes, project risk management, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
8. Process Management, including PLCP lifecycle knowledge, QMS knowledge for compliance of products, and practice improvements to drive functional excellence and financial management.
Requirements for Project Manager, MedTech:
1. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering or Project Management.
2. PMP certification or equivalent PM qualification is highly desirable.
3. 8+ years of industry experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, including 2+ years of relevant Project Management experience.
4. Experience leading small and large cross-functional project teams.
5. Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional, multi-site teams.
6. Strong organization, execution, and communication skills.
7. Proven experience as a point of contact with all levels of the organization as well as external customers.
8. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within project teams.
9. Problem-solving technical expertise.
10. Must be willing and able to travel internationally, as required.
