We’re a growing and ambitious company, so there is huge potential here to develop with us and enjoy fantastic rewards in your career.Job DescriptionThe Senior Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology will be responsible for Microbiology Laboratory operations in the absence of Chief Medical Scientist reporting directly to the Laboratory Services Manager during these periods. Authorising results, ensuring result accuracy at all times. Evaluating results and communicating with your Chief Medical Scientist within the Microbiology Laboratory, Laboratory Services Manager, Consultant Microbiologist and/or requesting clinician any relevant information regarding patient safety. Assisting with the validations and verifications of new or amended methods/kits/equipment when required. Contributing to monitoring, recording and investigations for audits. Plus, supervising and supporting basic grade scientists, students and auxiliary laboratory personnel.QualificationsEducationBachelor Degree & Masters' Degree in Biomedical ScienceExperienceBachelor Degree qualification- At least 5 years’ experience as a Basic Grade Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist in a medical Microbiology laboratory or Masters' degree qualification- At least 2 years' experience as Senior Medical in medical Microbiology laboratoryAny required licences / certifications or membership CORU Registration (Medical Scientist) orHCPC Registration (Biomedical Scientist)Skills & AbilitiesA diligent, strong work ethic with the ability to work on your own initiative to ensure an outstanding laboratory service.Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.A proven team player who will enjoy working with and supporting a close-knit team of dedicated professionals.
