Overview
This opportunity for a Global Customs & Trade (GCT) Data & Analytics Specialist offers the chance to play a key role in managing daily import and export data compliance for PepsiCo´s concentrate business - Cork operations (PCS). The main purpose of this role is to support the creation, accuracy, maintenance, transfer and reporting of customs and trade data to support our global supply chains. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with Customs/Irish Revenue and global trade regulations by managing key customs data, including Inward Processing and Customs Warehouse regimes, preference analysis and export processes.
In addition to data governance, this role will play a pivotal part in analytics and automatization, leveraging SAP, Excel, Power BI, and other tools to provide insights that drive data standards, accuracy and compliance. The successful candidate will support the maintenance of customs data, execute, and enhance reporting processes, and enable data-driven decision-making for wider organisation. This role will also support the implementation of SAP GTS.
This is a data-centric role that requires analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex customs and trade data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
Import & Export Compliance:
* Ensure the accuracy of customs data, authorizations, and licenses required for efficient import and export operations;
* Ensure all customs declarations and reports are submitted accurately and on time, working closely with brokers and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs);
* Reconciliation of Duty payments with Customs/Irish Revenue and Finance;
* Maintain country of origin and tariff classification to execute Free Trade Agreement (FTA) analysis, ensuring correct customs data on export output forms;
* Support audits, customs reviews, and regulatory updates, ensuring data and process compliance with evolving trade policies;
Customs Data Management & Analytics:
* Create, input, maintain and update foreign trade data fields in SAP, ensuring alignment with 24h Service Level Agreement;
* Lead data validation and quality assurance initiatives, ensuring standardization and accuracy across customs and trade data;
* Extract, transform, and analyse data from SAP, Power BI Dashboards, and other sources to improve customs and trade insights;
* Own trade data analytics dashboards to track duty spend, savings opportunities, and trade performance;
* Automate and improve customs reporting, ensuring compliance and audit readiness while reducing manual effort;
* Provide analytical support for duty optimization, trade flow efficiency, optimal sourcing, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and transfer pricing alignment;
Business Process Optimization:
* Collaborate with global teams to standardize data processes and provide coverage as needed;
* Work closely with IT teams to optimize customs data models, reporting tools, and support integration processes;
* Collect and maintain the data for customs/ trade analytics dashboards to provide accurate and actionable insights to senior management on foreign trade operations;
* Lead customs and trade data improvements, identifying opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains;
* Provide customs and trade inputs in BCP (Business Continuity Planning) to mitigate supply chain disruptions;
* Leverage tools and best practices from elsewhere in PepsiCo, and externally that will enhance our customs data and analytics agenda;
* Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in customs & trade analytics.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, Data Science, IT, Statistics, Mathematics or International Trade, Supply Chain, Customs Compliance and related fields, certifications in Data Analytics or BI tools would be advantageous;
* Minimum 2+ years of experience in Data Governance and Analytics or Customs & Trade compliance within a multinational, consultancy, or brokerage environment;
* Excellent skills in data management and analysis using available applications such as Power BI, Power Query, Tableau, SQL, or MS Excel/Access;
* Experience working with SAP, GTS, or similar ERP systems;
* Understanding of customs regimes, special customs procedures (including Inward Processing and Customs Warehousing), valuation, classification, preferential origin, and declaration requirements would be an advantage;
* Expertise in data reporting, planning, and customs audits;
* Proven background in process automation and SAP launch projects would be advantageous.
