Due to continuous growth, we are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team permanently.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced professional with at least 5 years of continuous buying and procurement experience in civils projects. Ideally, you should hold a third-level education in a relevant field or have come up through the industry in a trade or trainee capacity and transitioned into a professional buyer/procurement role.
Main Tasks Include:
•Placing orders for materials, plant, and equipment
•Hiring plant and equipment on/off-site
•Creating and managing purchase orders for construction, civils, and engineering goods, works, and services
•Coordinating with site teams to book deliveries
•Managing materials, plant, and equipment in the yard
•Onboarding new vendors – issuing and collecting relevant paperwork, adding suppliers and subcontractors to our database, and maintaining accurate information
•Strategically sourcing new suppliers, negotiating prices and lead times while continuously monitoring performance
•Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers
•Reviewing our existing supply chain to ensure we're getting the best value for money
•Collaborating with the accounts department to manage purchase orders, budgets, and cash flow
•Regularly liaising with site teams to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials
•Negotiating terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms
•Sourcing and procuring equipment and materials according to project specifications and production requirements
•Evaluating potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
•Analyzing pricing and data
•Resolving issues related to shortages, overages, or quality discrepancies
•Verifying and authorizing supplier invoices, addressing any discrepancies or issues with deliveries
•Identifying and championing improvements to current procurement processes
•Tracking and reporting on wider industry trends and overseeing the management of our company's inflation tracker
•Promoting sustainable procurement practices within the company and across the supply chain
•Working closely with project managers, technical, and cost management teams to ensure timely completion of key procurement activities and contribute to project success
•Focusing on innovation, exploring new products and technologies, and participating in comparative analysis
•Supporting data analysis and reporting objectives of the procurement team
