Mayo Mental Health Services currently provides specialist mental health care to a population of 130,638. It provides specialist assessment, care and treatment for people spanning all life stages to include a broad range of primary and community-based services as well as specialised services for children and adolescents, adults and older people.Purpose of the PostThe Clinical Nurse Specialist (Physical Health Needs) will promote prevention, monitoring and early intervention strategies for physical health of those in mental health services. This will reduce the burden of premature morbidity and mortality among service users with common and severe mental illness.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe post holder’s practice is based on the five core concepts of Clinical Nurse Specialist (Physical Health Needs) role as defined by the NCNM 4th edition (2008) in order to fulfil the role.
