Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Center Projects Location: Ireland (with regular European travel) Position Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role Our client, who are a European D&B Main Contractor, are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing data center infrastructure team.
While previous data center experience is preferred, they will welcome candidates with strong electrical engineering backgrounds who are eager to transition into the data center industry.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and oversight of electrical systems for major data center projects across Europe.
You can come either from an electrical design or site background.
This role would suit an electrical engineer currently working in Europe to get based back in Ireland or somebody who wants travel as part of their weekly work whilst being based and taxed in Ireland Key Responsibilities Lead electrical system design and/or site implementation for large-scale data center projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations Manage and coordinate with multiple stakeholders including clients, contractors, and local authorities across various European locations Perform detailed electrical systems reviews, including power distribution, backup systems, and critical infrastructure Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical installations Conduct site surveys and technical assessments of facilities Oversee quality control processes and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical engineering, with experience in any of the following: Industrial or commercial electrical systems Critical infrastructure projects Power distribution systems Large-scale construction projects Strong understanding of power distribution systems, UPS, generators, and switchgear Experience with electrical design software and BIM tools Valid driving license and ability to travel up to 50% of time Travel Requirements Regular travel to project sites across Europe Typical duration of site visits: 3-5 days Expected travel frequency: 2 weeks per month Must be comfortable with international travel and working in different cultural environments HOW TO APPLY: Please forward your CV through this website or contact Kevin Clair though Linkedin or at the number shown on the KCM Recruitment website ABOUT KCM: Established in 2004, KCM is owned and managed by construction professionals who recruit solely in the construction sector both in Ireland and internationally.
