Job Description
Quality Inspector
OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:
Quality Inspection:
* Receipt handling, storage, management and return of Receiving Queried Material (RI QUERY).
* Receiving Queries, and M3K reporting, & associated Quality Records
* Part Inspection of electronic, mechanical & plastic components & unpopulated PWBs / PCBs to IPC & customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Follow area/ function procedures & Work Instructions
* Work space compliance to Site requirements, ESD, MSD, Housekeeping (5S), Safety etc.
* Oracle Systems Transactions (RI Query, Pass / Fail)
* Inventory accuracy for RI Query location
* Adherence to M3K requirements and procedures
* Management of material by Customer
* Report generation and submittal to relevant Buyer/Engineer disposition action.
* Generation & administration to closure of Receiving Inspection Queries
* Effective Turnover of material to its relevant location
* Communicate noticeable trends for Engineering / Material preventive action
* AQL sample inspection of components, visual inspection, & use of magnification instrument as required.
* Quality Records for RI Query & Receipt Quality Inspection
* Designate administration of PCN Alerts & communication to Fermoy Cross-Function-Teams of the PCNs affecting the site.
* MRB Controller:
* Manage MRB Location and call meetings as appropriate
* Follow area/ function procedures & Work Instructions
* Work space compliance to Site requirements, ESD, MSD, Housekeeping (5S), Safety etc.
* Oracle Systems Transactions (Sub inventory transfer, RTV & Scrap)
* Adherence to M3K requirements and procedures
* Inventory accuracy for CMR, MRB, RTV locations
* Effective, timely and accurate system transactions
* Ongoing monitoring of inventory levels and on time returns
* Management of material by customer
* Monthly Customer (CMR) Material Claim administration through Program Managers
* MRB, RTV & CMR Report generation and submittal to relevant buyer/ engineer
* Ensure that any Material Purges are correctly closed out
* Ensure that any Material UAI are correctly completed & approved
* Disposition of both RTV material via shipping & Verification of scrapped components when approved
* Generate NCMRs, Reports & Quality Records as required
* Weekly DPMO Reports for plant Metrics for RTV, MRB (& CMR if requested)
* Quality: Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
* Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.
* Ensure consistency of product inspection
* Maintain a steady rate of inspection
* Record all defects in the appropriate manner (Electronic/Hardcopy).
* Highlight any concerns that may impact product.
* Take part in GDP/GMP projects.
* Inform Production / Quality Section Leaders of any developing trends.
* Assist Engineering with ongoing material/product inspections as required
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
* Familiarity of different component types, component verification and fail defects.
* PC Literate (Excel & Word, Email)
* Familiarity with MRP system - Oracle & Change Control system - Agile
* Trained in IPC inspection, IPC-A-600 Acceptability of Printed Circuit Boards and / or IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
* Good written communication and oral skills
* Good people skills, a team player
* Good timekeeper
* Attention to detail, accurate & legible Quality Records
DESIRABLE:
* Leaving Cert or other relevant qualification
* Experience in working within a Medical Device Manufacturing Environment
* Experience in medium to high volume electronic production
* Comfortable with direct contact with Supplier requesting RMA or other information on behalf of the Buyer / Supplier Quality Engineer
* Comfortable as area representative for Regulatory, Certification or Customer Audits
* First-Level fail component analysis assessment capability
